Welcome to the Chordettes, Ladies Barbershop Chorus

The Chordettes are a fun group of ladies of all ages, from 16 upwards who get together for the enjoyment of singing well known songs in a capella four part harmony.

Members come from a variety of backgrounds but with so much in common; our love for singing, our desire to learn to sing better through education and to be part of a friendly, happy chorus.

We rehearse at Abbotskerswell Village Hall every Wednesday from 7pm to 10pm.

New members will always find a warm welcome.

You do not need to be able to read music. We will help you every step of the way.

Our latest concert at Abbotskerswell Village Hall.

We are currently seeking  new members to join the Lead & Baritone section of the chorus. These are singers in the middle register. If you're not sure where your natural singing voice lies...book on and we'll help you find out!

Due to unforeseen circumstances we are really sad to announce that our Learn to Sing course planned for the next 4 weeks has to be postponed until the New Year.

If you were hoping to come along tomorrow then please continue to do so – the evening will be less structured than originally planned but you are still very welcome to join us for our warm up and some singing – and refreshments (cake!). Details of the rescheduled course will be published in the near future.

The Chordettes at the Ladies Association of British Barbershop Singers Harrogate October 2018

Fortieth Anniversary 1974-2014

It may surprise you to know that in 2014 we celebrated our 40th year as a chorus and that one of our members, Lee Westlake, helped to start i ll off and was also responsible for helping to set up Labbs. We also have another founder member, Brenda Roffe, still with us today. Marvellous!!!

We celebrated in style with a great knees up, a wonderful hog roast, and of course a big sing.
