Rehearsals are held every Wednesday from 7.00 - 10.00pm at
Abbotskerswell Village Hall, Abbotskerswell. TQ12 5YF

If you are thinking of joining us you are more than welcome to
come along to see us.

You do not need to be able to read music but you would need to
be able to commit yourself to coming to rehearsals every week
and to some extra sessions as we prepare for convention, which
takes place in October.

For more information email us here!

Sometimes we have workshops with special guests so we can learn more and enhance our skills
this is included in our membership subscription.

Voice Parts

Barbershop harmony is a style of unaccompanied vocal music characterised by consonant four-part chords for every melody note in a predominantly homophonic texture. The melody is consistently sung by the lead, with the tenor harmonising above the melody, the bass singing the lowest harmonising notes, and the baritone completing the chord. You can find out more about our Ladies Barbershop Singing Style on the Ladies Association Of Barbershop Singers website LABBS.

Tenor -  is the highest and sings a harmony above the lead.

Lead - sings the melody or tune

Baritone - is a harmony which weaves around the lead line and covers a similar range of notes to the lead.

Bass - is the lowest part and very important in grounding the rest of the singers.

We are always looking for ladies who wish to join us and have a go,
whatever your vocal range.

So if you love to sing? Come along on our Welcome Wednesdays, meet us and give us a try!
